This free elective was a self chosen objective to learn to use programs such as Lumion and Sketchup. Along with understanding the shaping of houses and the blending in of houses into the landscape
The Glass house
The Glass house was created to see how a house could be extended into space where you can have more greenery all year-round in a colder climate. the model is made by having 2 house sections at each end that function as a regular house. In between these two sections, a glasshouse is made to extend the seasonal living space, this area would make it possible to sit in greenery in Autumn and Spring.
The Sight
The Sight is an exploratory model that I started with in this free elective after finding a plot in the U.K. This plot had a large and picturesque stretch of land. Relatively narrow but over 450 meters long with several sights. The focus is not on the house but completely on the landscape it is looking out onto. The front of the house is hidden from entry and is only 1 floor high it then opens up into a 2 level high open floor plan house.
Outside-in
Outside-in is a home and garden that flow over into one another. This house is designed with the idea that the gap between house and garden is too large and that a house can have greener aspects and be an extension of the garden.
